Second meeting of the Prep Commission

The Preparatory Commission for the 25th General Chapter met last week, July 18-22, at the Generalate in Rome, Italy. This was their second meeting.

Unfortunately, two commission members became ill and the meeting moved onto Zoom.  Progress was made despite this setback and the heat wave.

Three items were settled:

  1. The dates of the 25th General Chapter were finalized: October 24 – November 17, 2023.
  2. The location of the Chapter was affirmed: the Generalate of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Rome, Italy.
  3. The theme will be “Living into a prophetic witness of universal communion.” Work continues on the translations of the theme and the graphic representation.

Ongoing tasks include preparations for the opening of the Year of the Chapter on October 24, 2022, and planning of the congregation-wide dialogue.

Let us keep these sisters in our prayer as they continue the work of the commission.
