Prayer for Peace

O God, you are the source of life and peace. May your name be eternally praised. We know that it is you who directs our minds to thoughts of peace in these times of conflict.

We pray that enemies will begin to speak to one another, that those at odds will join hands in friendship, that nations will seek the way of PEACE.

Strengthen our resolve to bear witness to these truths through our lives. Grant us: insight that puts an end to conflict, mercy that eradicates hatred, forgiveness that overcomes retaliation.

Enable all people to live your commandment of LOVE. Amen.

O God, you are the source of life and peace. Praised be your name forever. We know it is you who turns our mind as to thoughts of peace in this time of war. We pray that enemies begin to speak to one another; That those who are estranged join hands in friendship; that nations seek the way of PEACE.

Peace is the fruit of Justice and love. It is God’s gift to everyone, to the world.

Spirit of Shalom

By Sister Roxanne Schares

Ignite us with the fire of your love.

Ignite our hearts with courage
to engage in a dialogue that transforms
and to find a truth that liberates.

Ignite our love with kindness,
to heal divisions
and reconcile relationships.

Enlighten us with insight,
so that we may imagine and create a world..,
where all are one.

Encourage us to act in justice and peace,
to engage in critical issues
and to value all life.

Ignite our lives with boldness and hope
to risk all for the mission of God,
for love cannot wait.

Prayer for an End to Human Trafficking

by Sr. Gen Cassani, SSND

God, we do not have the words to express what we can hardly grasp and what we feel when we hear about women and girls being deceived and transported to unknown places where they are sexually exploited and abused – out of human greed and greed for profit in this world today.

We are saddened and outraged at how the dignity and rights of these women and

children are violated with threats, deception and violence.

Against this degrading practice of “human trafficking” we loudly rebel

and pray for its speedy end. Strengthen those who are of fragile minds and broken hearts.

Realize your promise, Lord, to embrace these our sisters with a love that is tender and good, and chase away the exploiters with empty hands!

Give us the wisdom and courage to stand in solidarity with these women and girls, that together we may find ways to peace – the peace that is your gift to us all. Amen.

Prayer for the Novices of the Congregation.

Loving God, you have blessed our Congregation countless times and in many ways throughout our history.

Now, as we celebrate with the universal Church the Year of Consecrated Life, we ask you to pour out your graces upon us anew.

Bless especially our efforts to establish the Congregation-wide novitiate.

May our women in initial formation, especially those preparing for their canonical year in Rome, deeply grasp and joyfully live their vocation to the religious state.

Fill them with zeal to strive for unity in the spirit of Mother Theresa.

Deepen in them the love of the Eucharist and of evangelical poverty, the enthusiasm for a transforming work of education and formation, and the appreciation of the dignity of women – those challenging aspects of our charism that are needed and longed for everywhere.

Help us all to support the new novitiate through our daily efforts to faithfully live the enduring vision of You are sent.

This we ask through Christ our Lord.  Amen

May we transform the World through education.

Spirit of Wisdom, open our eyes that we might see the need of your people longing to learn, open our ears that we might hear the cry of your people hungry for truth,,,open our hearts that we might embrace the yearning of your people, thirsting for you. Keep us faithful to the vision of Blessed Theresa and Mother Caroline, that we might understand anew your Gospel call to transform the world. Amen.
