The election process continued in the morning with the opportunity to ask questions of the nominees. In late morning, attention shifted to a review of chapter minutes.
As the afternoon session began in the aula, there was some excitement when the fire alarm went off. Chapter members walked out into the cool sunshine and then were told almost immediately that it was a false alarm – dust in the vents. The election process continued with time for reflection and for discussion and sharing of leanings in home communities.
A half hour of Eucharistic adoration and prayer in the chapel preceded the daily celebration of mass.
The first balloting for the role of General Superior took place in the early evening. Results will be made public when all the members of the General Council are elected towards the end of the week.
