In talking about the Last Supper Pope Francis points to three key pillars manifested during the Last Supper. The first pillar is the commandment of love. The second is that of service and the third is humility. He continued by pointing out ” no servant is greater than the one who sent him, the master. These blunt words and actions are the foundations of the Church. When we attend the liturgy we want to heed the words of the pope and Mother Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger: Humility is well-ordered self-esteem and an awareness that we are nothing and can do nothing without God.” #3
