On May 9, 1879,  at 12:30 pm  Mother Therese, at the age of 82, passed away.   On the morning of Monday, May 12, 1879, the funeral liturgy took place at St. James Church on the Anger in Munich. This was followed by burial in the convent crypt. (See Picture) Due to the bombing of Munich during WW II, the Motherhouse was heavily damaged and Mother Theresa had to be buried in a new crypt.
